Don't chase quick results — take it slow, step by step you go. When you move at a steady pace, you stay calm and bring out your best. Slow and steady wins the day; rushing only gets in the way.

Too much hope and too much fear are the same trap — both are extremes. Quick victory or quick defeat, the mistake is the same. Stay in the middle, keep your balance, and you can still think straight.

Going slow is not being lazy, and it's not stalling on purpose. It means a steady rhythm, a clear order, real results. Slow is not weak; slow is steady and sure.

Nothing matters more than a calm mind and a cheerful heart. The moment you panic, your rhythm falls apart, and your ability slips away. Stay calm and keep smiling — that's where real strength starts.

When trouble comes, keep your strength — that leaves a way out. Some things simply can't be hurried. Hold on, stay alive, and one day you can still make something of it. As an ancient general said: I meant to do something with this later.

General Qi Jiguang, in his book on training soldiers, warned: people cling to what they already know, and call their old ways the best. Once your mind is full of old habits, you naturally push away the new. Let go of the old, and you start to grow.

Don't let what you already know lock you in. The real danger is not that you know too little — it's thinking that what you know is everything. A closed mind hurts more than an empty one.

After years of study and years of real life, the one thing I'm sure of is that I still know far too little. The more I learn, the more I see how small my corner is. Being humble isn't weakness — it's the plain truth.

When someone says you're wrong, the reflex to argue back is just an animal guarding itself. We reject first and nitpick later. Rise above it — listen first, then judge. That's what lifts you above the animal.

Don't send a message that only says "Are you there?" — it wastes everyone's time and makes the other person guess. Say what you need, straight and clear. Clear beats polite, every time.

When you ask for help or report something, three things are enough: what it is, how it touches you, and why you ask this person. You don't need to be fancy — just don't leave people guessing. Say it plainly, then move on.

Before you ask, search first — or ask an AI — and sort out the basics. Then bring that first understanding to the table. If you open your mouth before you lift a finger, people will wonder why you didn't even bother to look.

When we talk, efficiency first, polish second. Get your point across, and everyone feels better. A short, clear word beats a long, flowery one.

An introvert can speak when needed — they just don't want to when it's not necessary. If you want to speak but dare not, that's not your personality; you just haven't learned how. Don't hide behind a label.

Don't assume the rules are always fair, that grown-ups are always right, or that obedience always pays. Growing past the student mindset doesn't mean turning cold — it means not being naive. Keep your warm heart; drop the innocence.

Most adults are not wiser than children — they just have more experience and habits, and know better how the world runs. That's all. So don't take every word they say as sacred.

A fantasy is believing things will get better by themselves. An expectation is knowing you must do something to make them better. College is full of things worth expecting — just don't let expectation quietly turn into fantasy.

Ask yourself clearly: do you truly love this thing, or do you just want to win through it and feel you belong? Letting someone else win for you is cheap joy. Real love lasts; borrowed victory doesn't.

Once you get into college, you can relax" is one of the biggest lies you'll ever hear. College is where the competition is sharpest and the free time is most — that's where the gap widens. This is a starting line, not a finish line.

Before you decide, ask yourself: do I really want this, or am I just acting out of spite? Every time you stop yourself from turning a feeling into a choice, you take charge of your life. That one question saves a lot of regret.

Failing a subject and then quitting isn't "I tried and couldn't" — it's "I didn't try, so I couldn't." The second excuse is easier to swallow, but it costs far more. You're not protecting your pride; you're paying for it.

If you dig in out of spite, the homework still has to be done and the juice will still be there — but you've already boxed yourself in. Stubborn pride only locks you into a worse corner. Choose the better path, not the prouder one.

When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. Study one subject deeply, and you may feel it explains everything — but you're missing the thinking other fields have built for centuries. Knowing other tools exist keeps you humble.

A steam-engine master, however brilliant, could never dream of a nuclear reactor. It's not stupidity — those ideas simply aren't in his world. Be great at your craft, but stay humble before what lies beyond it.

There are infinitely many whole numbers, and infinitely many real numbers — yet there are more real numbers. Learning that some infinities are bigger than others is a real jolt to intuition. Some things are true even when they don't feel true.

The same carbon atoms make soft graphite or hard diamond. The atoms don't change — the arrangement does. Structure carries power, in matter and in teams alike. Change the layout, and you change the result.

Short videos push your excitement bar so high that you can't sit through a long text. Words make you think; pictures just feed you. Read more, and you'll think deeper — it's a trade well worth making.

History holds wonderful patterns, but don't put yourself inside them. Don't become a loyal fan of some dynasty or group, as if their glory were yours. You are you — learn the lessons, don't take the roles.

Tools are here to help you, not to scare you. Learn the basics first; then the bigger tools feel like a hand, not a weight. A tool you truly know becomes an extension of your hand.

The command line tells you exactly what went wrong. A graphical screen just spins, pops up "failed," and stops. That's why I love the command line — it doesn't lie to you.

Worshipping a brand like a religion is just another kind of worship — it turns a thing into a faith. Electronics are tools, not gods. Use them well, but never kneel to them.

Language is meant to be spoken and heard first, then read and written. The courage to open your mouth and not fear looking silly matters more than test scores. I was near the bottom in class, but I always dared to speak — and in the end, I used it best.

The richer a culture grows, the more it needs people who can speak foreign languages to tell its stories to the world. If you can't open your mouth, how will you tell others what's good about us? Learn the language, then tell the story.

Anyone who says "you don't need to learn a foreign language" either has an agenda or is making excuses for their own laziness. Believe it, and only you pay the price. Don't let someone else's failure become your ceiling.

The easiest trap is rushing to prove you're right and burning hours on it. The time you spend defending yourself is time you could have spent reflecting and improving. Winning an argument is rarely worth the cost.

Everyone makes mistakes — memory slips, hands fumble, even masters mess up. Admitting a mistake is basic, and without it you can't improve. Refusing to admit a problem is the surest way to never fix it.

Just because someone is famous and successful doesn't mean you should swallow everything they say. Success often rides on luck and timing that even the winner can't see. Judge the idea itself, not the person who said it.

Everyone does it" and "it's always been this way" are not reasons — they're reflexes. A reasonable person gathers the facts and weighs the costs before deciding. Don't hand your judgment to the crowd or to habit.

Every game between people ends one of three ways: both lose, one wins and one loses, or both win. Most conflicts in life aren't zero-sum — there's usually a way to make the pie bigger. Look for the third way before you fight over the first two.

The saddest game is the negative-sum one, where everyone walks away worse. Two roommates feuding for half a year, teammates tearing each other down — no one wins, everyone loses. Talk early, before a small thing turns into mutual ruin.

Real masters don't fight over how to cut a fixed cake — they find a way to make it bigger. Share your apple, share your orange, and both of you taste two flavors instead of one. Cooperation makes value that competition can't.

The prisoner's dilemma shows why people betray each other even when working together would be best for both. Cut off and unsure, each side plays "safe," and both end up worse. Trust, built slowly, is often the smarter long game.

The "standard answer" you memorized is just the best guess of its time — nothing more. History is full of "final answers" that turned out to be only stepping stones. Don't treat a textbook answer as the end of thinking.

Thirty years ago the solar system had nine planets; now it has eight, and someone wants to change it back. The solar system never changed — only our names and textbooks did. What changed is us, not the world.

School is not a one-way road from college to PhD to teaching — that's just one path of many. Life is richer than a single fixed route. If you don't love your major, you may switch — just think it through first.

The scariest thing is choosing your life by your parents' advice — advice that may be years out of date — while never trying what you actually want. Years later, you regret the road you didn't take. Look into it first, then choose.

If you expect to learn everything from lectures, you'll be let down — some teachers just read slides. The real gift of college is that no one holds your hand anymore. Learning to find things yourself is the skill that matters most.

In college, the most important thing is to find chances and dig into what truly interests you. What the textbook skips and the teacher doesn't teach, you have to learn on your own. That ability is what carries you to graduate school and beyond.

Your college gives you a library, online databases, journals, and talks — use them all. Textbooks are the oldest, journals fresher, conference papers freshest. One good talk can be worth more than a semester of class.

On the journey west, the Monkey King runs everywhere to gather what it takes to solve a problem, while others wait for the problem to vanish by itself. Be the one who goes looking for answers, not the one who waits. The role is yours to choose.

Watch out when a system starts chasing the score instead of the thing itself — that's how good intentions get twisted. Grades, rankings, metrics — don't let the measuring stick become the goal. Keep your eyes on what truly matters.
